چکیده

Estrogenic hormones and organic ultraviolet-filters (UV-filters) have attracted increased attention as endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) due to their potent estrogenicity widespread occurrence in the environment. This study investigated accumulation of three estrogenic five UV-filters red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii). Exposure experiments were conducted for 42 days with a mixture EDCs at two environmentally-relevant design concentrations (i.e., 500 5000 ng L?1). The aqueous-phase EDC decreased over time re-established every days. Within 14 exposure, measured 2.2 265 g?1 (dry weight) tail tissue. Only one hormone, 17?-estradiol, was detected 10.4–13.5 g?1. No apparent changes observed tissue next four weeks exposure. bioaccumulation factors ranged from 23 L (kg tissue, dry weight)?1 4-methylbenzylidene camphor 1050 2-ethylhexyl-4-methoxycinnamate. input stopped after days, more hydrophobic octocrylene, 2-ethylhexyl-4-methoxycinnamate, homosalate) found be persistent throughout 14-d elimination period. A lyticase-assisted yeast estrogen screen demonstrated that residual activity water samples aligned (or lower than) predictions targeted chemical analysis. These results suggest transformation products did not contribute significant estrogenicity, although further analysis disruption outcomes is recommended.

In-Depth Transcriptome Analysis of the Red Swamp Crayfish Procambarus clarkii

The red swamp crayfish Procambarus clarkii is a highly adaptable, tolerant, and fecund freshwater crayfish that inhabits a wide range of aquatic environments. It is an important crustacean model organism that is used in many research fields, including animal behavior, environmental stress and toxicity, and studies of viral infection. Despite its widespread use, knowledge of the crayfish genome ...

In-depth comparative transcriptome analysis of intestines of red swamp crayfish, Procambarus clarkii, infected with WSSV

Crayfish has become one of the most important farmed aquatic species in China due to its excellent disease resistance against bacteria and viruses. However, the antiviral mechanism of crayfish is still not very clear. In the present study, many high-quality sequence reads from crayfish intestine were obtained using Illumina-based transcriptome sequencing. For the normal group (GN), 44,600,142 h...

Effect of starvation on growth, histology and ultrastructure of digestive system of juvenile red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii Girard)

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of 20 d starvation on growth, survival, histomorphology and ultrastructure changes in the digestive system of juvenile red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii). Juveniles were divided into two groups: a food-deprived group and a control group at 9 day after hatch (DAH). Individuals were sampled at 14, 20, 29 DAH. During the 20 d fasting per...

Origins of the invasive red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) in the Santa Monica Mountains

Although native to the southeastern United States, the red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) has become established worldwide through accidental and intentional actions by humans. In the Santa Monica Mountains of southern California, the presence of the omnivorous crayfish is associated with the absence or reduced abundance of native amphibians. The original source of P. clarkii in southern ...
